Membership Benefits
- OHS provides quality seminars for obtaining continuing education units with interesting topics, great speakers and enjoyable locations. Our June and November seminars ensure you that you will receive the 12 hours the State of Oregon requires in order to maintain your Hearing Aid Specialist's license. These classes are free to our members with only a minimal fee if you need your hours filed with the State and the International Hearing Society.
- Attending our educational seminars also gives you the unique value and fun of associating with colleagues from all over the State of Oregon.
- Our lobbyist efforts are ongoing to keep and eye out for any legislation that involves our industry and may effect our right to dispense hearing aids in the State of Oregon.
- OHS provides a “Consumer on line Hot Line” for consumer protection questions. The OHS board attempts to answer questions or resolve concerns before involving the Oregon Health Licensing Agency or legal counsel.
- Maintenance of professional practices and ethics committee to encourage professional standards and behavior; to investigate and report on all matters or complaints pertaining to business dealings, advertising, sales and service practices.
- Coordination of statewide advertising and promotion campaigns to encourage better hearing and patronage of OHS members.
- All OHS members receive a discount at the Tri-State Hearing Convention.
- OHS website providing beneficial information to consumers, hearing professionals and our members.
- Hearing aid consumers are able to search for an OHS member in their area to help them with their hearing needs.

Goals for the Oregon Hearing Society
- To better serve the hearing impaired by enhancing professionalism in the hearing aid dispensing industry.
- To disseminate knowledge among hearing aid specialists, the consuming public, and allied professionals through experience and education.
- To regulate and enforce ethical standards of the membership for the protection of the hearing impaired consumers of Oregon.
- To advise and assist members in the efficient and successful conduct of their business.
- To protect the hearing aid industry against unfair and unjust legislative or administrative enactments, to represent the membership of OHS before state legislative and administrative bodies and, when necessary, to promulgate and present proposed legislation to governmental bodies to accomplish the foregoing aims of the corporation.
